Fall Crappie Fishing

Here in the south the fall temperatures don't really start dropping till mid October but in the north temperatures start there swing down by the end of September. cool temps bring on the fish feeding and annual movement to winter water areas. Morning time should be spent in shallow waters that warm quicker with movement to medium depths for the afternoon. Use of live bait works very well from spider rigging, slip bobber and single pole fishing. lures should have good movement. Small paddle tails, flick tils and twisters and best choice with colors dependent on water clarity. Small clear semi transparent color shift lures are a must for this fishing. Small shad or minnow imitating crankbaits will work to. areas to fish will be shallow water leading to creek and river channels, underwater humps, ledges, points of which can or should be near any structure.
